Mumbai: The early teasers and posters of ‘Jawan’ took Shah Rukh Khan fans by surprise. The Bollywood Badshah, for only the second time in his three-decade long film career, seemed to be sporting a bald look.
Once that was confirmed in the trailer, fans eagerly looked forward to the release of ‘Jawan’.
And the bald look in some scenes turned out to be a major hit as ‘Jawan’ continues to break records since it hit the theatres on September 7.
Whose idea was it?
Well, Shah Rukh revealed that going bald was not a part of the original script. It was just ‘laziness’ that led to the bald look.
“It was never part of the script. It was a part of the get-up that was a part of the script. I just chose the bald look out of laziness. I said, ‘yeah, then I don’t have to wear 2 hours of this makeup, can I just go bald?’ So I think it came out of that,” Shah Rukh told IMDb.
“I had reservations because I showed the promo to some friends and they were like, ‘Arey yaar! It looks very scary, girls won’t like you.’ So I hope girls like me. I hope girls like bald men. I like bald girls,” Shah Rukh quipped.
Directed by Tamil filmmaker Atlee, the thriller also features Nayanthara and Vijay Sethupathi, as well as Deepika Padukone in a special appearance.
