Thailand: In Thailand’s Khao Kheow Open Zoo, a pygmy hippo—Moo Deng—‘predicted’ that Republican candidate Donald Trump will win the 2024 US presidential election and defeat Democratic candidate, Kamala Harris. Believe it or not, but a purported video of the ‘prediction’ has gone viral.
The hippo made her prediction when she was given a choice between two fruits, The Independent reported by referring to the video.
The video was reportedly shot on Monday. Zookeepers offered Moo Deng two watermelons—one carved with Donald Trump’s name according to the local spelling and the other had Kamala Harris’s name.
The video shows Moo Deng choosing to eat the Trump-labeled watermelon. The other larger hippo in the enclosure feasted on the Harris watermelon.
The prediction came at a time when national poll results show the two candidates’ neck-and-neck in the election.
Meanwhile, Trump and Harris campaigned in crucial battleground states on Monday. It was their final push on the last full day before the big election on November 5.
According to the University of Florida’s Election Lab, over 78 million Americans had already cast their ballots till Monday.
The leaders concentrated their efforts on Pennsylvania and Michigan, pivotal for the 2024 polls. Other key provinces include Arizona, Nevada, Wisconsin, North Carolina, and Georgia. To win the 2024 election, a candidate must win 270 electoral college votes.
