Bhubaneswar: The Vigilance sleuths on Friday apprehended IIC of Harbhanga police station, Boudh, Puspalata Routray while allegedly accepting a bribe of Rs 1 lakh.
According to Vigilance release, she had demanded the illegal gratification from a quarry lease holder to allow him to carry out his business activities without being harassed by police. The entire bribe money was recovered from her and seized.
A case has been registered at Berhampur Vigilance police station under Section 7 of Prevention of Corruption (Amendment) Act, 2018 and further investigation is underway, it added.
