Angul: An elderly woman died after reportedly being hit by Rourkela-Bhubaneswar Intercity Express train in Odisha’s Angul district on Sunday.
The deceased has been identified as Kuntala Naik (70) of Laxmidharpur village in the district.
According to sources, the mishap took place when the elderly woman was crossing the railway tracks around 9 am. She sustained critical injuries and died on the spot.
Government Railway Police (GRP) has recovered the body for postmortem and registered a case of unnatural death.
