Bhubaneswar: Days after semi-nude body of a woman was recovered from Malda river in Odisha’s Keonjhar district, her family has brought serious allegations against her husband, whom they accused of hiring killers to eliminate her.
The woman went missing on September 3 and her body was fished out of the river on September 20. Sadar police later arrested the victim’s husband, Suresh Parida, in connection of the crime.
Her brother alleged that she was abducted, tortured, and brutally gang-raped before being murdered by the contract killers, who then dumped the body in the river. “During crime scene recreation, Suresh revealed involvement of four others in the crime – Maya Munda, Dinabandhu Barik, Champa Munda and Chandramani Nayak. After murdering her, they met at Banspal. Suresh had given them an advance Rs 1 lakh and later paid them Rs 2 lakh in cash,” he told the media.
