Kendrapada: A woman went missing after being dragged into Brahmani river by a crocodile in Pattamundai area of Odisha’s Kendrapara district on Monday.
According to sources, the incident took place when the woman had gone to the river bank near Alapua village to wash utensils in the afternoon.
The crocodile suddenly emerged from the water and dragged her into the river, locals said.
The crocodile reportedly dragged the woman deep into the river water before anyone could rescue her.
A search operation has been launched by the villagers and local boatmen to trace the missing woman. The incident has created panic among the locals.
