Ganjam: A woman allegedly hacked her husband to death and later surrendered before police with her brother in Ganjam district on Thursday
The incident reportedly took place at Patadhar village under Jagannath Prasad police limits on Wednesday night.
The deceased has been identified as Tulu Pradhan. After killing him, the brother-sister duo allegedly chopped his body into several pieces.
According to sources, Pradhan was working as an auto-rickshaw driver in Bhubaneswar. He had come to his in-laws’ house at Patadhar village to meet his daughter on the occasion of Prathamashtami on Wednesday evening.
However, an altercation erupted between Tulu and his wife, who suspected him of having an extramarital affair in Bhubaneswar. It turned ugly when his brother-in-law intervened. Later, they allegedly hacked Tulu with a sharp weapon, leading to his death.
After the accused surrendered, a team from Jagannath Prasad police station rushed to the spot and recovered the severed palm and other parts of Tulu’s body from his in-laws house. A scientific team also reached the spot. Further investigation is underway.
