Bhubaneswar: The Odisha Vigilance sleuths on Wednesday apprehended in-charge Revenue Inspector (RI), Tasaladihi, in Sundargarh districts, Lily Choudhury, while allegedly accepting Rs 5000 bribe.
According to a vigilance release, she had demanded the illegal gratification from a complainant to submit enquiry report for conversion of agricultural land to homestead land in his favour. The entire bribe money was recovered from the accused and seized.
While a case under Section 7 of Prevention of Corruption (Amendment) Act, 2018, had been registered against Choudhury at Rourkela Vigilance police station, simultaneous searches are on at two locations linked to her in Sundargarh district from disproportionate assets angle, it added.
