Kalahandi: In a tragic incident, a woman was trampled to death by an elephant near Sripalli village under Narla Police limits in Kalahandi on Saturday morning.
The deceased has been identified as Banita Podha.
According to sources, the incident took place when Banita was busy collecting Mahula in a nearby forest, along with her daughter. She died on the spot.
However, her daughter managed to escape.
On being informed, Narla Forest Department officials reached the spot and started investigation.
