Cuttack: Seven players from Odisha are among the 409 shortlisted for the inaugural Women’s IPL Auction scheduled to be held in Mumbai on February 13.
The Odisha Cricket Association has identified the players as – Madhuri Meheta, Rasanara Parwin, Kajal Jena, SB Lorence, Sujata Mallick, Priyanka Priyadarshini Sahoo and Sushree Dibyadarshini.
The auction will start at 14:30 IST at the Jio World Convention Centre in Mumbai for 90 slots available with the five teams, with 30 being slotted for overseas players, the BCCI announced on Tuesday.
While Ahmedabad, Mumbai, Delhi, Bengaluru and Lucknow are the five city franchises, the players have been placed in Rs 50 lakh, 40 lakh, 20 and 10 lakh categories.
The Women’s Premier League will be played in Mumbai from March 4 to 26. Brabourne Stadium and the DY Patil Stadium will play host to a total of 22 matches, it added.
