Women’s T20 Meet: Madhuri & Kajal Power Odisha To Big Win Vs Chhattisgarh

Thiruvananthapuram: Odisha made a brilliant start to their BCCI Senior Women’s T20 meet campaign here on Monday, outplaying Chhattisgarh by 71 runs.

Odisha skipper Madhusmita Behera won the toss at Greenfield Stadium and chose to bat first. Madhuri Meheta and Kajal Jena’s power-packed half-centuries powered Odisha to 150 for 2 in 20 overs. Madhuri smashed an unbeaten 66 off 53 deliveries, while Kajal made 60 off 56 balls.

Chhattisgarh were never in the hunt as they made slow progress, losing wickets regularly.

Priyanka Priyadarshini bagged 2 wickets conceding 13 runs in 4 overs, while Sujata Mallik also returned impressive figures of 1/11 in her 4 overs as Chhattisgarh managed 79 for 5 in their allotted overs.

Odisha will next face Bihar on April 19), followed by matches against Tripura, Jharkhand and Tamil Nadu.

Scores: Odisha 150/2 in 20 overs. Chhattisgarh 79/5 in 20 overs.

Result: Odisha won by 71 runs.
