New Delhi: On the occasion of World Environment Day, President Ram Nath Kovind on Saturday said living in harmony with nature has been at the centre of Indian ethos.

World Environment Day is celebrated on June 5 every year to underline the importance of nature and protecting it.

“Living in harmony with nature and protecting biodiversity has been at the centre of Indian ethos and culture. On #WorldEnvironmentDay, as humanity fights against COVID-19, we reaffirm our commitment to work with global community for a sustainable future,” the President tweeted.

In another development, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will attend a World Environment Day event on the theme “promotion of biofuels for better environment” via video-conferencing on Saturday.

The Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) said Modi will also release “Report of the Expert Committee on Road Map for Ethanol Blending in India 2020-2025” on the occasion.
