New Delhi: Yamaha R15 is the motorcycle that brought swag to the 150cc segment nearly a decade back. The sporty handling and legendary R1 genes made it very popular, a tag stuck to it till date. The company has now updated the latest V3.0 with a dual channel Anti-Lock Braking System (ABS), a move that can be attributed to the fact that the government has upped the safety norms to include ABS in all motorcycles above 125cc by April 2019.
Along with ABS, the new Yamaha YZF-R15 V.30 gets a new colour called Darknight which is priced at Rs 2,000 extra. The motorcycle is available in Racing Blue and Thunder Grey colour options as well.
The new version is priced at Rs 1.39 lakh (ex-showroom, Odisha), a Rs 12,000 more than the non-ABS trim.
The Yamaha YZF-R15 V3.0 ABS is powered by a fuel-injected 155cc, liquid-cooled, single cylinder engine mated to a six-speed transmission. The engine produces 19 bhp power and 15 Nm torque.
It has full LED headlamps, a digital cluster, slipper clutch and USB charging port. It weighs 142 kgs, 3 kgs more than the non-ABS variant.
