Bhubaneswar: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Monday issued dense fog warning for several places in Odisha for the next three days.
According to the midday bulletin, dense fog is very likely to occur at one or two places in Balangir, Sonepur, Boudh, Kandhamal, Kalahandi, Angul, Dhenkanal and Keonjhar till 8.30 am on Tuesday.
Shallow to moderate fog is also likely to occur at a few places in interior Odisha and at one or two places in coastal Odisha during this period.
The MeT office has also forecast light to moderate rain or thundershower at one or two places in coastal Odisha, Sundargarh, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Dhenkanal, Kandhamal, Rayagada, Malkangiri and Koraput till Tuesday morning.
Similarly, Kalahandi, Kandhamal, Gajapati, Ganjam, Nayagarh, Angul, Dhenkanal, Boudh, Khurda and Cuttack are likely to experience dense fog between 8.30 am on Tuesday and 8.30 am on Wednesday.
During this period, shallow to moderate fog will engulf a few places in coastal Odisha and at one or two places in interior Odisha.
Light to moderate rain or thundershower is also likely to occur at one or two places in South Coastal Odisha, Jagatsinghpur, Rayagada, Koraput and Kandhamal.
While dry weather will prevail thereafter, dense fog may engulf Kandhamal, Rayagada, Koraput, Malkangiri, Gajapati and Ganjam during the subsequence 24 hours.
Shallow to moderate fog is very likely to occur at a few places in South Interior Odisha and at one or two places in coastal Odisha, Angul and Dhenkanal till 8.30 am on Thursday.
The office of Special Relief Commissioner has asked police and transport officials of these districts to take necessary measures to prevent road accidents due to dense fog.
The night temperature is also likely to fall by 3 to 5 degree Celsius after two days, the IMD added.
