Yet Another Lockdown: Here’s What You Can Binge Watch On OTTs

 

Bhubaneswar: So, we are heading towards another lockdown! Many of us have already gone through the puffy eyes phase after binge watching of the various web series during the first two lockdowns. Here is recap for all those who have missed out.

1. Money Heist Part 4 (Netflix)

One of the cult favourites of the audience, the Spanish action series about a group of robbers is back with another season. With elements like thriller, crime, heist, this series made the round one of the best series. The series also known as La Casa de Papel is eagerly awaited by viewers after its previous outing, which ended on a dramatic cliffhanger where the professor believes his girlfriend and co-conspirator Lisbon, have been killed by the police. Also, where Nairobi was shot when she was standing at the window in the Bank of Spain. After a long wait, finally the new season is on air since April 3.

2. Special Ops (Hotstar)

A super hit Indian thriller series led by Kay Kay Menon as the star hero fighting against time to finish a nineteen-year old terror mastermind manhunt. This series also has Indian television heartthrob Karan Tacker. The patriotic drama received praise from critics and audience as well. The series is termed as one the best series of Indian entertainment industry. This espionage series is created by Neeraj Pandey with the cover dialogue of Doondh ke maarenge.

3. Elite season 2 (Netflix)

Elite as the name tells, is the feudal aura created when three working class teenagers get a scholarship into the most prestigious private school of Spain, the clashes between the elite pretentious high bloods and these three ending in blood. The show is available in English language as well.

4. Never Have I Ever (Netflix):

The American comedy- drama based on an Indian- American High School girl and how she deals with her cultural roots and American life after her father’s death. The show stars Maitreyi Ramakrishnan in the lead role and produced by Mindy Kaling and Lang Fisher. The Web series based on the childhood life story of Mindy Making. The show premiered on April 27, 2020. It received positive reviews across the globe.

5. You season 2 (Netflix)

The second season of this American physiological thriller is as good as the previous one. The second part is loosely based on Caroline Kepnes’s novel Hidden Bodies. The lead star cast of the show is Penn Badgley, Victoria Pedretti and Jenna Ortega. This show also received positive response from across the globe for its unique content and string performances.

6. Four More Shots Please! Season 2 (Amazon Prime)

The Indian web series about four careless, fierce and flawed women. The story revolves around them and how they deal with pressure from society to live on their terms. It also explores the beautiful friendship between these girls and also throws light on the LGBTQ community. The superhit show is directed by Anu Mennon and Nupur Asthana. It stars Sayani Gupta, Kriti Kulhari, Bani J and Maanvi Gagroo.

7. Sex Education Season 2 (Netflix)

This critically acclaimed comical series is back with a brand new season. The plot revolves around Otis, a teenager who set up a sex clinic along with his classmate Maeve, Ola, Adam, Eric. The high school nostalgia, sex jokes with a hint of poignancy keeps it’s audience hooked up for the next episode. For the new season there is a surprise! Netflix has confirmed the addition of new characters. If we go by the teasers and trailers, the new season is gonna be better than the first one.

8. Riverdale (Netflix)

Riverdale as the name suggests, is the story of the people living in the town of Riverdale with the main characters being Archie, Betty, Veronica and Jughead, four teenagers trying to complete their high school journey while combating blood thirsty criminals and sinister happenings. It has a total of four seasons, the fourth season being currently on air.

9. The Act (Hulu)

Gypsy Blanchard, the main character of the story, tries to flee from the binding relationship she has with her overprotective mother. The journey she has to take to earn her freedom from this toxicity leads to revelation of new mysteries, one of which ultimately leads to homicide.

10. Kota Factory (YouTube)

Kota Factory is about a boy named Vaibhav who comes from his hometown Itarsi to Kota to get admission into one of the coaching institutes to crack IIT. Saurabh Khanna, the creator, tries to portray a larger image through this show, depicting the stories of tens of thousands of students travelling to Kota with the same hopes as only a few are able to do it. The rest are taken aback by distractions, limitations and unknown situations.
