Bhubaneswar: Police have arrested a youth for allegedly uploading the pictures of a girl in the social media without her consent in Bhubaneswar.
According to sources, the youth, Jayant Parida of Sadango under Delanga police limits in Puri district came in contact with the girl in Bhubaneswar around eight years ago. They became friends and came close to each other soon.
Jayant had clicked some photos of the girl on his mobile phone at the time. Around two years back, the girl broke up with Jayant for some reasons.
Though Jayant persisted with the girl to continue the relationship, the latter turned it down. Irked over it, Jayant threatened the girl of dire consequences. He warned of kidnapping her and hurling bombs at her house.
Following this, the girl filed a complaint at Tomando police station in the city. Acting on the complaint, the poli e arrested Jayant. During questioning, he admitted to the police about uploading the girl’s pictures in social media and threatening her.
Police have registered a case in this connection and started investigation. They have also forwarded Jayant to court.
