Youth Drugged, Robbed While Returning Home In Auto In Odisha Capital

Bhubaneswar: A youth, who was allegedly drugged and robbed of his belongings, was found in an unconscious state near Madhusudar Park, Pokahariput, in Odisha capital on Sunday morning.

The victim was identified as Rabi Narayan Mohapatra (22), a resident of Banki.

According to the sources, Rabi booked an auto-rikshaw after de-boarding Purushottam Express at Bhubaneswar railway station. It is being suspected that the auto driver offered him tea aced with sleeping pills as they were travelling towards Kalinga Vihar. He then looted Rs 17,000 in cash, a gold ring and chain, wrist watch and other belongings. Some people, who came to the park this morning, spotted him and informed his family around 7 am and police. Some of his relatives, who stay in Bhubaneswar, arrived at the spot after receiving the call.

A team of local police also reached the spot and rescued the youth, who was then rushed to Capital Hospital for treatment.

A case has been registered at Airfield police station and investigation into the matter is underway.
