Bhadrak: Tension ran high in Saidabad village under rural police limits in Bhadrak district on Saturday after locals set a house and two auto-rickshaws on fire following the murder of a youth.
The deceased has been identified as Sakim Khan, 28.
According to information, Sakim’s sister had tied the knot with Bhalu Khan, 35, of the same village. However, Sakim later came to know that Bhalu had married four other women after marrying his sister. Sakim and Bhalu used to have frequent arguments over the issue.
Frustrated over this, Bhalu attacked Sakim with a knife near his house and fled the spot this morning.
Following the incident, a group of irate locals set Bhalu’s house and his two auto-rickshaws on fire.
Police have launched a manhunt to nab the accused who absconded soon after committing the crime.
