Cuttack: A youth slit a young girl’s throat with a blade inside a garment store in Dolmundai, Cuttack, on Sunday, in what looks like fallout of an unrequited love story.
The girl, a salesgirl at the garment store, sustained multiple injuries on her neck and hand and was rushed to the SCB Medical College and Hospital.
The accused was identified as Bapi of Badhei Sahi in Buxi Bazar. Sources said he entered the garment store and asked the girl to go out with him. When the girl refused to do so, they got into a heated argument after which the youth attacked her.
Hearing her screams, staff at the store and locals rushed to the spot and caught the accused. Badambadi police later arrested him. Further investigations are on.
