13 Earthquakes In The World, 7 In India In Past 24 Hours

There has been a spate of mild earthquakes up to a magnitude of 5.4 in the world and India in the past 24 hours. Out of these, 13 have taken place in the world and 7 in India.

Here is a list as reported by India’s National Centre for Seismology.

Tokyo, Japan 

An earthquake of magnitude 5.1 was reported near Tokyo, Japan on Friday morning.

The epicentre of the earthquake was 291 km east-northeast of Tokyo, Japan. The earthquake struck at 10:42:44 am IST at a depth of 10 km from the surface.

Nukualofa, Tonga 

An earthquake of magnitude 5.1 was reported near Nukualofa, Tonga on Friday morning.

The epicentre was 364 km north of Nukualofa, Tonga. The earthquake struck at 8:29:36 am IST at a depth of 10 km from the surface.

Jammu & Kashmir, Gandoh 

An earthquake of magnitude 4.4 was reported near Gandoh in Jammu & Kashmir on Thursday afternoon.

The epicentre of the earthquake was 88 km east of Katra, Jammu & Kashmir. The earthquake struck at 1:10:39 pm IST at a depth of 5 km from the surface.

Taipei, Taiwan

An earthquake of magnitude 5.4 was reported near Taipei, Taiwan on Friday morning.

The epicentre was 427 km southeast of Taipei, Taiwan. The earthquake struck at 7:52:32 am IST at a depth of 10 km from the surface.

Saipan, Northern Mariana Islands 

An earthquake of magnitude 5.2 was reported near Saipan, Northern Mariana Islands on Friday morning.

The epicentre was 559 km north of Saipan, Northern Mariana Islands. The earthquake struck at 7:50:05 am IST at a depth of 10 km from the surface.

Kotamobagu, Indonesia’s Sulawesi

An earthquake of magnitude 5.1 was reported near Kotamobagu in Sulawesi on Friday morning.

The epicentre of the earthquake was 647 km north-northeast of Kotamobagu, Sulawesi, Indonesia. The earthquake struck at 12:30:23 am IST at a depth of 10 km from the surface.

Hyderabad 

An earthquake of magnitude 5.2 was reported near Hyderabad on Thursday evening.

The epicentre of the earthquake was 107 km southwest of Hyderabad. The earthquake struck at 6:20:27 pm IST at a depth of 10 km from the surface.

Kargil, Ladakh 

An earthquake of magnitude 4.5 was reported near Kargil in Ladakh on Thursday afternoon.

The epicentre of the earthquake was 119 km north-northwest of Kargil, Ladakh. The earthquake struck at 1:11:02 pm IST at a depth of 90 km from the surface.

Arunachal Pradesh, Changlang 

An earthquake of magnitude 4.4 was reported near Changlang in Arunachal Pradesh on Thursday afternoon.

The epicentre of the earthquake was 174 km south-southeast of Changlang, Arunachal Pradesh. The earthquake struck at 1:08:23 pm IST at a depth of 10 km from the surface.

Baraut, Uttar Pradesh 

An earthquake of magnitude 4.5 was reported near Baraut in Uttar Pradesh on Thursday morning.

The epicentre of the earthquake was 65 km NNE of New Delhi. The earthquake struck at 9:51:25 am IST at a depth of 742 km from the surface.

Todaraisingh Tehsil, Rajasthan 

An earthquake of magnitude 4.6 was reported near Todaraisingh Tehsil in Rajasthan on Thursday morning.

The epicentre of the earthquake was 86 km ESE of Ajmer, Rajasthan. The earthquake struck at 6:54:48 am IST at a depth of 10 km from the surface.
