Bhadrak: At least 28 families rendered homeless and properties worth over lakh were destroyed in a devastating fire at Khadimahara Bharati Sahi Village of Kasimpur Panchayat in Odisha’s Bhadrak district late on Friday night.
Reports said some villagers noticed fire billowing out of a house at about 2.30 AM. Within no time, the fire spread to nearby houses.
The panicked families ran out of their houses to save their lives. However, they could not recover the household articles.
Till reports last came in, at least 28 families have rendered homeless while some domestic animals including cows and goats have died due to the devastating fire.
Though the exact cause of the fire is not yet known, sources said short circuit could be the reason.
