Khurda: Six drug peddlers were arrested and 262 grams of brown sugar seized from them by the police from Gurujang Mahotsav ground in Odisha’s Khurda district on Tuesday.
Apart from the brown sugar valued at over Rs 26 lakh, the Khurda Model Police also seized a vehicle and five mobile phones.
Acting on a tip-off, a team of the Model police station conducted raid at the Gurujung Mahotsav grounds and caught the drug peddlers. The police seized 262 grams of brown sugar worth Rs 26 lakh.
The police have launched an investigation in order to ascertain the involvement of others involved in the narcotics trade in the region.
