New Delhi: The ruling Biju Janata Dal (BJD) will soon take a stand on the no-confidence motion brought against the BJP-led NDA government at the Centre, which will be taken up for discussion in Parliament on Friday.
A meeting of the BJD Parliamentary Party (BJDPP) presided over by its leader Bhartruhari Mahtab discussed the issue in the national capital on Thursday.
Briefing mediapersons after the meeting, MP Prasanna Patsani said BJD president Naveen Patnaik has issued a whip asking all the party MPs to remain present during the debate on the no-trust motion in Parliament.
Asked about the decision taken at the meeting, he said that all the party MPs decided to wait for the decision of the chief minister. “Whatever decision he takes on this issue will be carried out during the debate in Parliament tomorrow,” he added.
All BJD MPs, including Rama Chandra Hansda, were present at the meeting.
It is worthwhile here to mention that the BJD had backed the NDA government in the election of the President of India Ram Nath Kovind. However, it had openly opposed the election of the vice-president.
