Bhubaneswar: Continuing their crackdown on drug rackets in Odisha, the Special Task Force (STF) of the Crime Branch recently seized 1.5 kg brown sugar and arrested one person from Jaleswar area in Odisha’s Balasore district.
Based on an intelligence input, the STF apprehended Sk Munaf Husen of Jhadeswarpur during a raid on NH-16 near the Laxmannath Check gate along the Odisha-West Bengal border.
During search, brown sugar weighing 1 kg 530 gm and other incriminating materials were seized from his possession.
The approximate market value of the seized contraband is over Rs 1 crore.
A case in this regard was registered by the STF under various sections of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act, 1985 on Tuesday.
