Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Friday approved a
proposal regarding reservation of 25 percent of the seats in National
Law University, Cuttack for students from Odisha.
The move will benefit the students willing to pursue legal studies as
a career, a statement issued by the Chief Minister’s Office (CMO)
said.
At least six national universities across the country have a fixed
quota for admission of native students belonging to the respective
states. But, the Law University had no reservation provision. With the
approval of the proposal, the aspirant students from Odisha having
secured 60 percent marks in Plus Two would be eligible to get
admission to the National Law University, the statement added.
