Koraput: In view of the extraordinary need to prevent the possible spread of the novel Coronavirus (COVID -19) and acting on the directive of the Higher Education Department, the authorities of the Central University of Odisha on Saturday suspended all classes and closed the hostel facility in the University campus till March 31.
In a notification, Registrar of the University said that the students residing in hostels are advised to vacate the premises within 48 hours from Saturday.
He also said that the mid-semester examinations are cancelled/postponed till further order while all functions in the campus such as seminar/conference/symposium etc stand cancelled till further notice.
According to the notification, the University teachers shall remain available to the students as per the timetable and stay in touch with the students for study material and examination.
These measures shall be reviewed on March 22 and further communication will be updated. The students have been advised to check the university website www.cuo.ac.in for updates.
All teachers/guest faculty/visiting professors and non-teaching employees (regular or outsourced) have been asked to perform duties with precautionary measures as per the UGC advisory, the notification added.
