Berhampur: It was quite a homecoming for Shivashis Nayak, a young software engineer from here. He was stranded in a cruise ship at Yokohama port in Japan and finally returned to his native place. Both he and his family heaved a sigh of relief.
As per reports, Shivashis was tested negative for coronavirus while he was on the quarantined Diamond Princess cruise ship in Japan. Parents of the Odia engineer breathed a sigh of relief after he returned to them.
While the special flight that carried 199 Indians reached New Delhi on February 27, the evacuees were taken to an ITBP quarantine facility where they were quarantined for 14 days.
Shivashis returned home following a thorough medical checkup.
Shivashis had appealed to the governments of India and Odisha to take steps to evacuate the passengers from the ship.
