Puri: Following the spurt in fresh COVID-19 cases here, the Puri district administration has tightened the norms for visitors to the town from 12 high-risk states.
This was decided at a review meeting chaired by Puri Collector Samarth Verma.
As per the directive of the Special Relief Commissioner (SRC), people coming from the 12 highly-infected states including Maharashtra, Punjab, Kerala, Chhattisgarh and Gujarat will have to show the RT-PCR negative report conducted in the last 72 hours, the collector told the media after the meeting.
He further informed that hotel and lodge owners have been told not to allow any tourist from these 12 states without the RT-PCR negative report.
Notably, Puri town has reported 92 fresh COVID-19 cases in the last week with the highest 24 on Monday.
