Jajpur: Acting on the directive of the High Court to conduct Rath Yatra of Goddess Biraja in Odisha’s Jajpur beginning October 17, the administration on Monday had a preparatory meeting under the chairmanship of Collector Chakravarti Singh Rathore.
It was decided that the festival would be conducted with strict adherence to COVID-19 guidelines.
To ensure proper implementation of social distancing guidelines, prohibitory orders under Section 144 of CrPC would be clamped around the temple and the chariots to prevent large congregations. Apart from this, sevayats of the temple will have to undergo COVID-19 test before the commencement of the festival, which will be concluded on October 24.
