Cuttack: Parents of an Odia girl have sought the intervention of the Centre and state government to trace their daughter who has been missing in Portugal since March.
The girl from Cuttack was pursuing MSc in the University of Barcelona and had moved to Portugal in February after COVID-19 outbreak in the country. Her family members are unable to contact her her over her mobile phone since then.
Her parents have already apprised Spain and Portugal Embassies in Delhi and the Commissionerate of Police of the matter. They have appealed to Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik and Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan to help them trace their daughter.
“We have started an investigation and contacted the embassy of India in Portugal. Further action will be taken after getting the response,” said DCP Akhilesvar Singh, according to media sources.
