Bhubaneswar: Eight districts of Odisha are likely to experience heavy rainfall from Sunday till October 30 under the influence of a cyclonic circulation formed over west-central Bay of Bengal, the regional meteorological centre of India Meteorological Department (IMD) said on Sunday.
The districts likely to be affected are Cuttack, Nayagarh, Ganjam, Rayagada, Puri, Kendrapara, Jagatsinghpur and Balasore.
“Scattered rainfall is likely in coastal districts of the state from today. Heavy rainfall is expected at one or two places in Puri, Jagatsinghpur and Kendrapara districts. Light to moderate rainfall is most likely to occur over many places in coastal districts on October 29,” informed regional meteorological centre director HR Biswas.
The Met bulletin has also advised the fishermen not to venture into the sea in view of rough sea conditions on October 29 and 30.
However, cold weather would prevail in the state after October 31, the weatherman added.
