Bhubaneswar: Reversing its earlier order, the Odisha government on Thursday extended the deadline for issuance of Pollution Under Control (PUC) certificate till December 31.
PUC certificates will be issued both through online and offline mode till December 31. Those obtained through the online and offline mode will remain valid till the expiry date indicated in the certificate,” said a notification by the State Transport Department.
The decision was taken after the department found inadequate pollution testing centres (PTCs) in the state, the notification added.
The department had earlier made online PUC mandatory from October 1. It had also said that PUC obtained through the offline mode will be considered invalid from September 30.
