Bhubaneswar:A thick blanket of fog engulfed several places in Odisha, including Bhubaneswar, reducing visibility to 20-50 metres on Thursday morning.
According to sources, dense fog was observed at Bomikal, Rasulgarh and Palasuni in the state capital from 4.30 am onwards. Vehicular movement was affected on NH-16 Bhubaneswar-Cuttack road because of the reduced visibility. Students, vendors and others experienced problems while commuting this morning.
Traffic on the city roads, however, was scant owing to the strike called by bus, and auto-rickshaw drivers.
Notably, the regional meteorological centre has forecast light to moderate rain accompanied by thunderstorm, lightning and squall at several districts of the state till March 20 morning. .
