Bhubaneswar: The East Coast Railway (ECoR) will organise an exhibition at 4 railway stations under its jurisdiction on the occasion of Partition Horrors Remembrance Day on August 14.
The exhibition will be organised at Puri, Bhubaneswar, Sambalpur and Visakhapatnam railway stations. Union Minister of Education and Skill Development & Entrepreneurship Dharmendra Pradhan, Bhubaneswar MP Aparajita Sarangi and MLA Ananta Narayan Jena will attend the event.
The country is observing Remembrance Day of Horrors of Partition to reveal the suffering of millions of people during India’s partition. Prime Minister Narednra Modi, in his last Independence Day speech, had announced to observe Partition Horrors Remembrance Day.
Partition Horrors Remembrance Day has been envisaged to bring to light the agony, suffering and pain of millions of people who were displaced during partition before independence. The partition also claimed the lives of a large number of people.
