Sundargarh: Panic gripped Deogaon village under Bonai Forest Range in Sundargarh district as an elephant herd wreaked havoc here on Friday.
According to sources, the elephants strayed into the village from a nearby forest and destroyed agricultural fields.
The villagers claimed that the herd damaged at least two acres of standing crop.
On being informed, the forest officials reached the spot and launched an operation to drive the elephants away from the village.
