Five New Animals Arrive At Nandankanan

Bhubaneswar: The Nandankanan Zoological Park located on the outskirts of Odisha’s capital received five new guests on Friday.

The five animals included a pair of wild dogs, a pair of Assam Macaques and a female Himalayan Black Bear. They reached at around 9:30 pm on Thursday.

The animals were brought in a special container from the Aizwal Zoological Park in Mizoram and have been quarantined for observation. Later, they will be released into their respective enclosures for display, the zoo authorities informed.

With the arrival of these animals, the total number of species in the zoo has gone up to 157.

In March this year, a pair of Red Hand Tamarin and another pair of Black tufted Marmoset were brought to the zoo from Madurai in Tamil Nadu, sources said.
