New Delhi: The Union Grants Commission, UGC has issued fresh guidelines for first-year undergraduate (UG) and postgraduate (PG) students for the academic year 2020-21.
On Friday, Union Education Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank took to Twitter to inform the students about it. He wrote, “In view of the #COVID19 Pandemic, @ugc_india has issued guidelines on Examinations & Academic Calendar for UG & PG Students for the Session 2020-21.”
In the guidelines issued by UGC, the academic calendar for the first-year student’s proposed earlier on April 29 has been amended. UGC has said that the academic session 2020-21 may commence from November 1, 2020, for the first-year students.
The last date for admissions to fill up the remaining vacant seats is November 30.
In the context of classes, universities have been advised to follow a 6-day week pattern for the academic session 2020-21 and 2021-2022 to compensate for the loss for this batch of students.
