London: Liquor baron Vijay Mallya, who has been declared a fugitive economic offender in India, was seen entering the Kennington Oval, where India is playing its second World Cup match against Australia, on Sunday.
“I am here to watch the match,” he told ANI.
Mallya, who is currently contesting his extradition on the grounds that Indian jails weren’t safe, said that preparations are underway for the next hearing slated for July.
He owes money to the tune of Rs 9,000 crore to various banks on account of unpaid loans by Kingfisher Airlines and also faces charges of money laundering, fraud and conspiracy.
