Bhubaneswar: The Odisha government will present the interim budget (vote on account) in State Assembly on Thursday.
The interim budget will be presented by the Finance minister Sashi Bhusan Behera while a motion on Vote on Account will be moved.
While the Council of Ministers in a meeting on February 2 has approved the four-month interim budget of Rs 55,855 crore for 2019-20 fiscal keeping the Assembly and Lok Sabha polls in view, the volume of the annual budget of the state, which was Rs 1,32,818 crore during 2018-19 fiscal, is expected to go up further by 12 per cent during 2019-20 fiscal.
With elections around the corner, the state government will give priority to agriculture, education, health, infrastructure and rural development sectors and make new announcements.
On February 8, the Appropriation Bill on Vote on Account will be tabled in the Assembly.
