Bhubaneswar: The premises of a cinema hall in Odisha capital virtually turned into a battlefield with a dispute over car parking triggering a clash between two groups amid high drama.
What started as a verbal duel between two groups over parking of car in the parking lot of the cinema hall in Acarya Vihar area of Bhubaneswar led to a clash, sources said.
The incident took place on Saturday night as very limited space is available for parking vehicles, particularly for four-wheelers, at Maharaja cinema hall, locals said.
A small space was left in the parking lot when members of a family and another group of youths reached the cinema hall to watch a movie. A verbal duel erupted as both groups wanted to park their car at the same place. The altercatoin led to a scuffle between the two groups,
A video of the scene which went viral on social media showed a girl sitting atop a car and hitting its bonnet. A large number of people gathered at the spot as the high drama continued for over 30 minutes. Several vehicles were stranded as road communication along the highwa was hit for some time.
On being informed, police rushed to the spot and brought the situation under control. Some members of both the groups were detained and the issue was resolved later.
