Bhubaneswar: Considering rising temperature and prevailing heatwave condition in the entire state, the Odisha government on Tuesday announced closure of all schools and Anganwadi centres for next two days.
The School and Mass Education department, in a notification, stated that all schools upto Class XII, including government, aided and private, and Anganwadi centres will remain closed on April 19 ad 20 in view of the prevailing heatwave conditions in the state.
Earlier, the government had closed the schools and Anganwadi centres for 5 days from April 12 to 16. After the reopening of the schools, the government announced morning classes from 6 am to 11 am.
It may be noted that as many as 10 places in the state recorded day temperature of 43 degree Celsius or more on Tuesday. Similarly, 29 places registered more than 40 degree Celsius, according to IMD.
