New Delhi: A full emergency was declared at Indira Gandhi International Airport here on Tuesday evening as an Air India flight landed with 180 people on board and a cracked windshield, reported PTI.
Air India said in a statement that its flight AI-858, operating on Pune-Delhi route, landed ahead of its scheduled time following a crack on the aircraft’s windshield.
“Air India flight AI 858 operating from Pune-Delhi on April 18 safely landed in Delhi ahead of its scheduled arrival time, following a minor crack on the right (starboard side) of the operating aircraft’s windshield,” the airline said.
All passengers and flight crew are safe, the airline informed.
The aircraft will undergo necessary maintenance procedure, and its windshield will be replaced before it flies again.
