Bhubaneswar: An 11-member Inter-Ministerial Team left for the cyclone-hit coastal districts of Puri and Khurda on Monday to assess the extent of damage rendered by the devastating cyclonic storm, Fani, on May 3.
Earlier in the day, the team led by additional secretary in the Ministry of Home Affairs, Vivek Bharadwaj, held a meeting with Special Relief Commissioner (SRC) Bishnupada Sethy, BMC commissioner Krishan Kumar and other senior officials at a hotel in the city here.
The team later divided into two groups and went to the affected areas in Puri and Khurda districts. On May 14, a team will visit the remaining affected areas of Puri district and the other team will visit Cuttack district.
After winding up its visit to the three aforesaid districts, the team will visit the affected areas under Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) on May 15. Later, it will hold a meeting with chief secretary Aditya Prasad Padhi at the state Secretariat at 11am.
The team will return to New Delhi in the afternoon and submit its report to the Centre.
