Mumbai: Babil Khan-starrer ‘Qala’ has created quite a buzz. He is, after all, Irrfan Khan’s son, and ‘Qala’ is his first movie.
And those looking forward to watching whether Babil turns out to be as versatile an actor as the late Irrfan, won’t have to wait too long.
The Anvitaa Dutt-directed film will start streaming on Netflix from December 1.
A psychological thriller, ‘Qala’ is the story of a talented singer – played by Tripti Dimri — who has to confront her past.
“For her, life was music, and music was her mother. Watch Qala’s journey on 1st December, only on @netflix_in!!” Babil posted on Instagram recently along with a poster of the film.
“I have never been fond of the word ‘debut’ or its implications as the story is and will always be greater than the individual; let’s say the first time I worked in a film as an actor was a period of rigorous personal evolution through a very difficult time. For this I am exceptionally grateful to the makers of this film and of this universe,” Babil wrote in another post.
The film, produced by Karnesh Ssharma under the banner of Clean Slate Filmz, also features Swastika Mukherjee, Amit Sial, Neer Raao, Avinash Raj Sharma and Ashish Singh.
