Balangir: In a shocking incident revealing the carelessness of the authorities concerned, the students of a government-run ITI at Larkipali in Odisha’s Balangir spotted a lizard in the meals they were served.
According to reports, 20 hostel inmates took ill after eating dinner on Monday night. The dead lizard was found in cooked dal. One of the boarders informed the hostel authorities about the incident, following which the entire cooked dal was disposed of.
They complained of stomach pain and vomiting. As their condition deteriorated, they were taken to Bhima Bhoi Medical College and Hospital on Tuesday morning.
The hostel in-charge Bidhubhusan said necessary action will be taken against the cooks after a probe.
