Bhubaneswar: Under the influence of cyclonic circulation over the Gangetic West Bengal and neighbourhood more rains have been predicted in several districts of Odisha.
The Bhubaneswar Meteorological Centre here has forecast light to moderate rains and thundershowers in most of the districts.
During the next 24 hours, heavy to very heavy rains are likely to lash the districts of Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Balasore and Dhenkanal. The districts of Bhadrak, Jajpur, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Kendrapada, Sundargarh, Sambalpur, Deogarh, Angul and Jharsuguda are also likely to experience heavy rainfall. The prediction is valid till 8.30 am on Tuesday.
The Met centre has also alerted about thunderstorm with lightning
at one or two places over the districts of Khurda, Puri, Ganjam, Gajapati, Kandhamal, Nayagarh and Boudh during the same period.
Yellow warning has also been issued for several districts from September 22 to 23 morning. Most of the places in the districts of Sambalpur, Jharsuguda, Keonjhar, Angul, Bargarh, Nuapada, Balangir, Kalahandi, Sonepur, Deogarh and Sundargarh are likely to experience heavy rainfall.
Thunderstorm with lightning is also forecast in some places of Nuapada, Nabarangpur, Balangir, Kalahandi, Kandhamal, Rayagada, Malkangiri, Koraput, Sonepur and Boudh.
The weather is likely to remain inclement with heavy rainfall likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Nuapada, Nabarangpur, Kalahandi and Balangir from September 23 to 24 morning.
Bhubaneswar will remain cloudy with one or two spells of rain or thundershower, stated the Met office.
Another cyclonic circulation likely to form over Eastcentral and adjoining Northeast Bay of Bengal around September 25 is likely to move west-northwestwards and reach Odisha coast during subsequent48 hours. Under its influence a fresh spell of heavy rainfall likely over Odisha from September 26.
