Male & Female Naval Agniveers To Train At Odisha’s INS Chilka

New Delhi: The first batch of 25,000 Agniveers will be recruited by December, Army officials informed on Sunday.

“The second batch will be inducted around February 2023, taking the strength to 40,000,” Lt Gen Bansi Ponappa said during a press conference.

Of the total strength, 3,000 Agniveers will be absorbed in the Indian Navy, with about 20 per cent female recruitees.

The naval Agniveers will train at INS Chilka in Odisha.

“From November 21, the first batch of naval Agniveers will start reaching the training establishment INS Chilka in Odisha. Both female and male Agniveers will be recruited,” informed Vice Admiral Dinesh Tripathi.

INS Chilka is the premier basic training establishment for sailors of Indian Navy.

Giving broad details, Indian Navy officials said that the naval headquarters will issue a broad guideline for recruitment by June 25.
