Bhubaneswar: Massive fire and on the national highway near Pahala on the outskirts of Bhubaneswar led to panic among the commuters on Monday.
Thick smoke covered the area blinding the path for commuters. Police and fire services personnel rushed to the spot and brought the flames under control. It took the fire-fighters nearly two hours to douse the flames.
Sources said fire started from an engine oil that had spilled on the road a few days back and had not dried up. On Monday, the inflammable substance caught fire and took a huge form.
However, it was yet to be ascertained if it was the same oil that caught the fire or the tar that had spilled on the road after a truck carrying it met with an accident.
