Kalahandi: Body of the general manager of Upper Indravati Hydro Electric Project (UIHEP), Narayan Prasad Meher (55), was found near a mobile tower in Mukhiguda area in Kalahandi district on Sunday, exactly a week after he went missing.
Mukhiguda police registered a ‘missing case’ based on a complaint lodged by his wife, Surekha Meher, on December 17.
His wife had then told the media that Narayan went to his office at 10.30 am but did not come back home. “As far as I know, he had no enmity. When I called him at 12.40 pm, he did not respond,” she said.
Narayan was living in a government quarter of Mukhiguda under Jaipatna police station limit.
Meher’s family had also mer Kalahandi SP to enquire about the actions taken to trace him.
UIHEP comes under Odisha Hydro Power Corporation Limited (OHPCL). The project is about 90 km away from Bhawanipatna.
