Sambalpur: A newborn girl was rescued in critical condition from a village in Odisha’s Sambalpur district on Sunday.
As per reports, some villagers of Khandokata under Kuchinda police limits in the district hear the baby crying while they were going on the main road of the village in the morning. On tracing the cries, they found the newborn girl lying near the compound wall of villager Dilip Sahu.
Though the villagers picked up the baby from the bushes and wrapped it up with warm clothes, they could not decide what to do. A villager, Sanjay Patel, who works in a healthcare centre, came forward and took the baby to the sub-divisional hospital (SDH) in Kuchinda.
Her condition was stated to have stabilised after treatment in the hospital. On being informed, a team from Kuchinda police station went to the SDH and started investigation.
